About Me: My pen names are Brooke Cunningham and K. B. Cunningham. I'm known in various online places as either Kay Brooke or Ahryantah. Mid-twenties, graduate student in microbiology hoping to be done in May 2008. This page is meant to be an escape from labwork and academia, but I still put a Science section on here. It's like a bad habit now. Most of my online activities have shifted to LiveJournal. My person LJ site can be found here.

Hobbies: First and foremost, writing. It's certainly my longest-lived hobby, since I've been doing it since almost before I could read. There was a point in my life when I wanted to be a professional writer, but then I became pragmatic and went into a more sensible field. So writing, for the moment, is only a hobby of mine, though I still harbor a not-so-secret hope to publish one or more novels someday.

I love reading more than anything else. Favorite authors include Stephen King, Michael Crichton, Melanie Rawn, J. R. R. Tolkien, J. K. Rowling, Ursula K. LeGuin, Greg Keyes, Gregory Maguire, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Orson Scott Card, Arthur C. Clarke, Jane Austen, William Shakespeare, Jules Verne, Charles de Lint, Amy Tan, Bill Bryson, Charles Dickens, Charlotte Bronte, Jacqueline Carey, Lois Lowry, and many others that I'm not thinking of right now.

I also like nature and hiking, horseback-riding, spelunking, canoeing, biking, and others things of that nature. I love cats. I played percussion for ten years. I also play the piano, but badly. I dabble in photography and sometimes in graphics when I can eke out some time. I used to do community theater but not since leaving college. I listen to an eclectic range of music, from Celtic to rock alternative. I collect movie soundtracks and am obsessed with Mah Jong. I spend too much time on the Internet. I'm a huge science fiction and fantasy geek. I go to Dragon*Con every year.

About the Site: This site used to be known as The Dellorathe, but I wanted a change. I started a LiveJournal community called Skylar Town that I use as a creative journal, and since I want this site to be a more static record of the same kinds of things I thought making it a sister site to the LJ comm would be best. Skylar Town the LiveJournal has two facets: public and private. The public side contains all my icons, fanfiction, and short stories that I don't mind being publicly available on the Internet. Basically, the public Skylar Town LJ has the same content that's on this site. The private side is viewable to members only and consists of chapters from the novels I'm working on and other more serious writing projects. I post them mainly to get comments from other writers online that I know and trust, and only those people that I already know can be approved for membership. Anyone is free to watch the journal, however, since the stuff people might actually be interested in is all public. Go and take a look if you like.
