Panacea is the novel I started
for NaNoWriMo 2005. It was a ton of fun to write and I really want to finish
it someday. It's a more comedic fantasy piece and takes place in its own
world separate from the two major worlds I work in (Catah and the world of
the Eighth Saimar and The Academy).
Status: Approximately 50,000 words written; currently editing the beginning chapters. Synopsis: Vincent Prader is just a normal chemist who only wants what everyone wants: fame, money, recognition of his general brilliance, men and women swooning at his hallowed feet. Normal stuff like that. What he's had to make do with is a small townhouse inherited from a dead uncle, a failing apothecary business, and a bad-tempered lab assistant cum girlfriend. But then Vincent is kidnapped and brought to a man who claims he is the reincarnated soul of history's greatest warrior, Marryl Denosi. Marryl has a message for Vincent from the Queen, a message that involves attack by foreign sorcerers, a dying royal family, and the mysterious disappearance of the head of Parliament. Vincent's obscure existence is swept away as he races against time, dodges assassins, and deals with his impossible assistants while trying to discover a cure that will heal his world.
